Martin B. Leon, MD

Martin B. Leon, MD, is a Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York, NY, as well as Chief Innovation Officer and the Director of the Cardiovascular Data Science Center for the Division of Cardiology. Until July 2023, he was the Director of Columbia Interventional Cardiovascular Care.

The Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, Leon has played a pivotal role in shaping the field of interventional cardiovascular medicine through his involvement in over 50 clinical trials, co-authoring over 1,550 publications. He is also the Director and Founder of TCT meeting, celebrated its 35th birthday in 2023.

Leon also held prior positions at the Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute in New York, NY; Washington Cardiology Center and Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC; and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. He did his medical education at the Yale School of Medicine, his internship and residency in internal medicine, and his cardiology fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
